Joyce Durham, a nurse and an architect and brings a unique background of both clinical and architectural expertise to her clientele and projects. During her over 30+ year career in consulting, Ms. Durham has directed the development of numerous operational analyses, facility master plans, and detailed functional and space planning engagements. She has particular expertise in facility and operational design for key clinical areas, including inpatient, emergency, surgical, imaging, and obstetric services.

Ms. Durham has worked on many projects in the U.S. and has extensive experience with major healthcare projects internationally, including new hospital planning/development and operational strengthening in: Vietnam, China, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Oman, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Nigeria. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, she led the planning for a critical care expansion project at a private hospital.

 

Ms. Durham has a Masters in Architecture, a Bachelors in Architecture, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, all from the University of Michigan. 

She is a prior member of the American Institute of Architects, a founding member of the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design (NIHD) and previous president, and a Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing member.
