Mr. Kashat is proficient at developing and implementing best practices and strategies to manage Environmental Risk and Compliance, Health & Safety, Sustainability and Security in the human, built, and natural environments. His demonstrated ability to establish vision, strategy, direction, and tactics to implement world-class EHS management and compliance programs are designed to deliver meaningful environmental stewardship. Leadership skills in continuous improvement, environmental due diligence and impact statements, grant writing and economic development incentive, root cause analysis, process hazard analysis (PHA), change management, Responsible Care (RC) 14001 auditor, and program development/implementation result in value-added cost-effective management and solutions.

 

Mr. Kashat received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Michigan and his Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Wayne State University. During his formative, years Mr. Kashat worked as an environmental chemist and consultant for Bureau Veritas, and later as an Environmental Affairs Officer with National Bank of Detroit (NBD) where he established lender environmental policy and best practices. In 1994, Mr. Kashat Co-Founded AKT Environmental Consultants, and in 2001 completed a successful merger with Peerless Environmental. During that time, Mr. Kashat managed finance, administration, product quality and deliverables, and established the company’s Environmental Due Diligence and Compliance Service lines of business. Over the years, Mr. Kashat contributed significantly to business development, sales, and growth, while establishing customer loyalty. In 2020, Mr. Kashat transitioned his interest in AKT Peerless through an employee buyout to pursue personal interests and other emerging opportunities in sustainability and climate change, including provision of services internationally through GHSN.

 

Mr. Kashat is a result oriented and practical technical expert capable of performing multiple, varying, and complex assignments. As a high-level performer, he is motivated by supporting great organizations with purpose and meaning to create a better environment. His leadership style is collaborative, organized, accountable, and efficient, and his passion, commitment, and follow through are fundamental to his character. Mr. Kashat loves the outdoors, is an avid fisherman, and cherishes spending time with his amazing family in Port Austin and on the Great Lakes of Michigan.
