This course discusses characteristics of normal growth and development in children beginning with infants through adolescents. Physical, cognitive, language, and psycho-social development in children is examined using various developmental theories and practical application. Participants learn how to assess growth and development in children of all age groups including signs of developmental delay and abnormal development. The effects of acute and chronic illness on growth and development is discussed. Strategies to support growth and development are presented.
