This course focuses on the purposed and types of intravenous therapy. Types of venous access devices and components of an infusion system are presented. The roles and responsibilities of the nurse in caring for a patient receiving infusion therapy is presented using evidence based practice and clinical case studies. Safe administration of commontypes of infusion solutions including blood and blood products is examined.
