Facility Planning

We believe facility planning is a natural extension of the strategic planning completed in the initial phase. By utilizing an operations-based approach, we ensure that form follows function, enabling the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective care.Site and Facility Master Planning.

Often completed in
collaboration with an architectural firm, this activity includes
the development of a site utilization plan, an organized
framework for facility development, and a detailed phasing plan.

Functional Programming. This activity involves developing a detailed operational plan for proposed departments and documenting optimal operational characteristics and systems, including scope of services, hours of operation, workload volumes, staffing models, operational processes, functional relationships, and design considerations.

Space Programming. This step involves creating a detailed room-by-room space listing, which documents:
The quantity of each type of room
The recommended size for each room
Any special requirements or features needed (e.g., accessibility, specialized equipment, storage needs)
This document serves as a bridge between the functional program and the schematic
design, ensuring that all spaces are accounted for and appropriately sized before moving
forward in the design process.

Equipment Planning. Our services encompass a comprehensive project needs assessment, evaluation of existing equipment for potential reuse, and identification of new equipment requirements. We also manage the full procurement process, including acquisition, delivery, and installation.

Information Technology Planning. As information technology plays an increasingly critical role in healthcare delivery, we assist clients with identifying IT needs, selecting vendors, overseeing implementation, and ensuring complete and proper installation.
